Online Poker: illegal or legal for US players? I know a lot was talked about eleven months ago, but what about now? Is it legal/easy for American players to deposit money into an online poker site, as well as get it back out? What are some of the better money transfer programs/sites?
Is it legal to play poker online, when you live in the US? Is there any free money on any of the sites right now?
Is it legal to run a free US poker site? I want to start a US Poker site that allows people to complete offers and shop online to receive poker chips. Then can then play with the chips they earned and cashout whenever they want. There would be no purchase required for them to earn chips. Does anyone know whether it would be legal to run this in the US and whether you would need any special licenses, etc?

Is playing poker online illegal for players or those running the site? I have noticed that there are a number of sites still accpeting US players for online poker. One site is even only banning 11 US States from betting. So do those companies run the risk of legal action or the people who continue to use those sites? Not really answering my question. I'm wondering if the legal action will come against the Online gambling sites, or if the legal action will come against the obline gambler.
Do you think online poker players are afraid to play online now? With the passage of the legislation in Congress to curb online gambling, many online poker sites have already banned US players from playing for cash at their poker rooms. Although online gambling is legal, and the legislation affects the banking industry specifically, do you think that online poker players are afraid to make a deposit at an online poker room? Online Poker Fraud? I know Online Poker in the US is illegal. I was surprised that my CC worked it is an American Bank and Card that I have.
Wtf? Online Poker is Illegal on WA? I just discovered that Online poker is same illegal in WA then having under-age sex and DUI. Wtf? That is the most BS thing I've EVER HEARD! So when I will get busted on playing poker at online, then I will go to the jail? Biggest Laugh ever. I've never heard so stupid law. Why is it so? Because Native-Americans owned casinos doesn't get enough profit and money and some Casino owner had contacts in Washington State Government who passed that law? And anyways how they will find out if I am playing at online in Europe Poker server? They start spying on my or my computer? That pisses me off because I'm originally from Europe and I play in Poker servers/sites which are located in Europe but I thought it is legal in US too(well it is but not in my state). But If I will show them my poker income on certificated paper and pay them those taxes, will they let me to play? And more. When I win the money, WHEN! then I let them to transfer on my one Europe bank account which one I can't use in US because it hasn't Visa or Master Card logo on it. I go to the Europe every once in a while and then take the money out there and spend it in there. I even doesn't have US bank account because I don't need it. So would they still bust me? I'm playing in European Poker server and when I win the money they I let them to transfer to it in to my Europe bank account number which I can't use in here. It shouldn't be problem then?
No way!? Online poker is illegal? I just discovered that Online poker is same illegal in WA then having under-age sex and DUI. Wtf? That is the most BS thing I've EVER HEARD! That pisses me off because I'm originally from Europe and I play in Poker servers/sites which are located in Europe but I thought it is legal in US too(well it is but not in my state). I understood that it is illegal because it is a potential form of income they can not tax. But if I would show them my Poker income paper and pay them taxes of it, then it will be okay? I want to know the appropriate legal disclaimer for a situation.? I want to start a website which will review online poker rooms which can accept US customers. I'd like to protect myself from potential legal action, if necessary. Could someone please suggest decent "legalees" for my terms of use page to address this? Um, web hosting costs $9 a month, but thanks for the completely not helpful response.
Is gambling in the US legal? I live in Virginia. I know there are casinos in Nevada, New Jersey and on Native American reservations. So I guess that gambling laws are state laws and not federal? What I'm most interested in though is not casino gambling or online gambling, but instead activities that friends engage in. For example, is it illegal for me to play cards for money at a friends house? Is it illegal to organize a Fantasy Football league with a buy in that pays out the winner(s). Is it illegal to participate in an NCAA bracket pool with a buy in? Strictly speaking, we do use the internet for the latter two, but not to transfer any money, only to set up the league or pool. I know it doesn't really matter if these activities are legal or not since they aren't enforced, and I don't care about morality issues of whether I'm breaking the law. What I'm concerned with is should I be 'careful' with such activities, like not declaring the fees/payout on a message board or sending email about poker games?
We are moving to Australia from the USA...Anyone from there? I have so many questions!!? I'm not sure where to begin. My husband might be taking a job in Australia...Queensland. The company helps us with re-location and setting up a bank...His Visa...etc. But I have a few questions..well alot..but a few for now. 1. All my bills are from the U.S.A..he will be getting paid in AU money..so how do I pay them over there? 2. Also, if we choose to live in the city...will I need to buy a car..or are most things within walking or biking distance. 3. If he is sponsored on a 457 Visa...am I able to work over there? Are jobs hard to find? 4. How is the housing...we like small places..just me and my hubby so a small place is fine....What is the cost average? 5. Is there alot of crime? 6. I play poker...here in the States...on a regular basis..do they have Casino's with Texas Hold'em? Is online poker legal? 7. Will my laptop work there...I mean will i be able to charge it or do I need a special adaptor...what about internet is offered in many places? High Speed? I have so many more questions...but not enough space...any and ALL information from anyone in the area..will be greatly apprciated. Thank you all in advance. Yes..the exchange rate is horrible at the present moment for sure. However the job pays a good salary AU vs. USA ...after you exchange his salary from AU to USD its a huge pay increase. All of your answers are most helpful..any information is great. Please keep the information coming. I found a few really good web sites about Brisbane...I'm looking into them now.
Would gambling for airline miles be popular? What if one of the airlines started an online casino that would allow people to play poker, bet sports, or maybe even play online game shows against each other in an effort to win each other's airline miles? I assume it isn't legal, although plenty of online casinos offshore accept US dollars, so there wouldn't be much harm in letting people gamble their airline miles against each other. Just a thought.
Is it legal to play online poker for money in the US? If it is what sites can you play at?
Online Poker? Does anyone know if this will ever become legal in the US again ?
